Synopsis

Spence has done nothing but drift ever since the Civil War ended, going from one ranch to another just trying to get by. He heads for the Coastal Del Rey Range to hunt for gold, but finds treasure he never dreamt of when he meets up with the Harris family, and the Colonel who owns the Triple Y ranch. Soon he is struggling for survival, and the safety of all those he has come to care about, as the elements, the gunslingers from the rival Bar S ranch, and marauding Indians try to drive him from the land he has come to call home.

Review by April 2, 2001 quote from Domhan Books, "Congratulations to Billie Stephens, whose title Coastal Del Rey seems to be taking Texas by storm."

Great Adventure Reading Story kept you reading, awaiting the next adventure in the hero's life. Great story involving tangles with gunfighters, Indians, new settlers and romance. I couldn't put the book down until the last chapter. Eagerly awaiting the next book by this author.

Great 'Feel Good' Book One of those books you can't set down, as it keeps you wondering what is going to happen next. Adventure throughout the book with a surprise ending. I usually read a book once, but have read this one three times now.

Western that has it all! A western that has it all, and a surprise ending!! A western novel that has it all -- plenty of action, bad guys, Indians, and tender feet that need help. A easy read that won't let you put it down until the last page is turned. I can't wait for Spence's return in the next story....

It was a story where I was constantly surprised and pleased to see bits of natural history thrown in. Author has a good background in our American history and displays it throughout the book. Looking forward to his next "historical fiction" since this book included so much already.

I am from Denmark and never saw a Western. I read it because my boyfriend was reading it and I read it in two days. Now I am a Western fan and a fan of the author.

I bought the book as I support new authors, I am a romance novelist. I had no intention of reading it, but read the first chapter and could not put it down. I read the complete book and now look forward to the next one from this author.

And My Personal Favorite Review:

This book was written by a classmate of mine from many years ago. I bought the book at a recent class reunion more from obligation than from interest. Boy, was I surprised to find a really good book. If you like pioneer history, western adventure and a good clean book for reading enjoyment, this is a must read. Congratulations, Bill! Keep up the good work.
